SERVICES AT ST. LEONARD’S
Traditional Holy Communion service with organ, hymns and a short address. It is a wonderful opportunity for those who appreciate a quiet space to encounter God as his word is preached and bread and wine are shared. Although there is no specific provision for children, they are welcome at this service and there is a crèche area available for the very young.
This is a service aimed at the whole family. We have a blend of modern worship songs, hymns, prayer and teaching, usually followed by refreshments. We celebrate Holy Communion on the first and third Sunday of every month. Young people and children have the opportunity to leave part way through to attend groups suited to their age and stage on the first and third Sunday. The second Sunday is a contemporary service of worship and teh fourth Sunday an ‘ALL-IN’ service with something for every age group. Crèche facilities are available throughout.
We are beginning to rebuild our shared prayer life and working towards a fixed pattern of prayer. PLease see our weekly email for information about forthcoming prayer gatherings. The style of prayer meeting varies but the aim is always the same: to worship God and bring the needs of our church, community, nation and world before our loving Heavenly Father.
Before COVID, once a term the youth put on a Sunday evening service, which, whilst planned and led by the youth, is designed to be for the whole congregation. The informal service is relaxed, interactive, and lively but also includes opportunities for quiet reflection and prayer. We hope to restore this service as part of the rebuilding of our shared devotional life.
