We love having children and young people around at St Leonard’s and we want to care for them, value them and include them in the life of the church. On Sundays we spend time all together at our 10.45am service before going into groups for age related learning and worship. The Creche is available at all times. We also have activities during the week. See below for a summary of Sunday and midweek activities but do email our Children and Families worker, Carmen Fraser, for any more information or queries. The form on this page will make its way to Carmen.

We provide a safe environment for our children and young people to grow in maturity and faith. Follow the link below for information concerning our safeguarding policy and practice.

Safeguarding information

Little fishes caters for the under 5’s and their parents. We seek to develop friendships, both with each other and with Jesus, through play, stories and getting creative. We meet in a quiet room just off the Chancel that is equipped with comfy chairs and toys.

Little Fishes runs from part way through the service, after we have enjoyed some music and time with the rest of our congregation. The space however is available for parents at anytime during the service should they wish to use it.

We also have a baby/toddler friendly area within the church should parents prefer to stay in the service with their little ones.

When: 10.45 services except 4th Sunday when we are “ALL-IN” together.
Where: In the Church

Powerhouse caters for children in school years 1-6 and takes place during the 10.45 service on a Sunday morning. The purpose of the group is to help children to grow in their knowledge and love of God, and in their practical discipleship.

When: Sunday 10.45 service (term time)
Where: In the Church, leaving part way through to the Church Hall

Walkie Talkies serves our community by providing a safe and fun environment for parents, carers and toddlers. We hope to grow in friendship and act as a bridge between pre-school and church groups for families with young children.

When: Mondays and Tuesdays, 9.45-11.15am (term time)
Where: In the Church Hall

Bump to One aims to provide a supportive, nurturing environment for new and first time parents and carers of babies under one and pre-walking children. This friendly, inclusive group is also promoted by local healthcare professionals to new mothers in the local area, and has become an ‘oasis’ of calm and refreshment for many.

When: Mondays, 10.30-12.00am
Where: In the Church

Cell 56 is not a means to incarcerate children but to give them a fun time after school and teach them about how to be a follower of the incredible Jesus. It is for children in years 5 and 6 and includes food, friendship, games, discussion and prayer. Children in the last term of year 6 will be introduced to our Youth cells ready for year 7.

When: Mondays, 5.30-6.45pm
Where: St.Leonard’s Church Hall

“I have never seen my child so enthusiastic about anything before – except Father Christmas” – overheard in the village library after our second Eynsham Churches Holiday Club.

Over fifty children attended last years “Maker Fun Factory” and we’re all set for this year with “Shipwrecked”.  The team is drawn from all three Eynsham Churches.

An ‘assembly’ with songs starts the mornings off. Each day has a bible memory verse, illustrated in twenty minute sessions of games, a craft imagination station, homemade snacks, a video and dramatic retelling of bible stories. Children and leaders are divided into crews of 5 or 6 who hop, jump and fly between each activity station.

Crews win points for effort, noise, memory, saying ‘thank you’, original handshakes and winning races. The prize at the street party (with ice cream) on Friday is to throw wet sponges at two chosen leaders. The final event is a Holiday Club All Age Service on Sunday in St Leonard’s.

We look forward to seeing the children again this year!
